And I'm... back! With a brand new computer, after the former one betrayed me... To apologise for not posting anything for a long time, here's some recent work. I actually drew it some time ago (around september), but painted it last week. It appears I can't paint something without getting the paper crumpled... I guess it means I should use better quality paper xD
So here's a crossover between Doctor Who and Hellsing. Why? because they're both awesome. And that'd be fun. Just imagine the encounter between Alucard and the Doctor... Just imagine the Tardis materialising in Integra's office : Donna and the Doctor would be like "wait, that's not the right place", and Integra and Victoria would be like "wtf is happening", and Alucard... Well, I guess he'd be ready to shoot and kill xD
I chose to paint Donna with the Doctor because I didn't fucking remember how to draw Rose I thought it'd be funnier, 'cause Donna would get furious if Alucard points a gun at the Doc, and she'll yell at him, and... I don't know how that'd end up... O_O I honestly really don't know, maybe with an awful lot of running?
Enjoyyyy! Disclaimer, I don't own Hellsing, or Doctor Who unluckily... (I get this crossover idea after noticing that most of the Hellsing fans I know on dA are also Doctor Who fans)
PS: there may be some small details errors, or colors error, since I had no computer last week (I had some piece of junk, that comes down to the same), I couldn't check anything. And I couldn't find the right shade of blue for the Tardis ._. PPS: any advice on how not to get the paper crumpled with watercolours?
I recomend using watercolour paper (unless thats what was used) and, when using watercolours, it usually works if you put a lite-ly sticky tape at the corners taping it to a hard, flat, surface. It will hold it flat and discourage wobbling, then you lightly peel the tape away. ....and for the record, this piece really excites the fangirl in me
re: the crumpling issue, it's largely down to the thickness of the paper. i've got some 220gsm cartridge paper, which is almost 3x the thickness of normal copier paper but still crumples. perhaps unsurprisingly, the only paper i've found that doesn't scrunch up is a specialist watercolour paper - i've got a watercolour pad which is 450gsm, so thick you could almost use it as armour-plating or something... but at least it doesn't crumple. don't know how much it cost, as the pad was a birthday present, but i'd guess it's relatively pricey.
Yeah, I think so too. But it's not surprinsing since I painted on my drawing pad, it's certainly not made to paint... Mhh yeah, I guess it's expensive O.o My father used to have some paper just for watercolour, but I recall it was quite expensive... But it may be the only way since you've got to use water for watercolors >.<
